Description
With the concession from 1843, the Cologne-Mindener is one of the oldest German long-distance railways. The first routes were Cologne-Minden-Oberhausen-Emmerich (48 miles) and Cologne-Gießen with Betzdorf-Siegen (24 miles). At the end of the 1960s, the Venlo-Münster-Osnabrück-Bremen-Hamburg line began as part of the Paris-Hamburg connecting line. From the loan of 90 million marks issued for this purpose, 60 million were taken over by the Norddeutsche Bank in Hamburg and placed with the public in the form of premium share certificates.
